I'm 56 and in Aug. had high ALT levels, for the 1st time. Just got new results and now it's higher at 108 and my AST is high at 49. In 2006 I was dx with 2 small hemangiomas. Could this be related?
Dr. is referring me to a GI for future consult. What happens next? Is a GI as good as a hepatologist? I'm very apprehensive about this. I am hypothyroid, and wonder if the liver elevations could be due to autoimmune.
Thank you all for your advice.
