View Full Version : AF knocking at my door?!

I am 10 days past IUI today. Yesterday (Sat), I started spotting pink. I still am spotting the same amount today. I am afraid it's AF! Although, I have no cramping what so ever. My basal temp is still above 98 and boobies still sore. I found out that my cycle day 21 progesterone level was a 6. something, which indicates that I ovulated. BUT, the nurse said that the prog level indicated that I would have ovulated 3 days ago. WHAT THE HECK?! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/hammer.gif My temp has been up since the day after my IUI. I really think that my egg quality sucks and that I will find out when I do the clomid challenge test this next cycle. SO, if the clomid challenge test proves that I have poor egg quility or i'm just running out of follies, is there any hope for me??? Anyone have any suggestions or opinions? Sorry I am all over the place, but I'm so confused! Is there hope after a failed clomid challenge test? Thanks for listening girls http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif

Could it be implantation spotting? Don't give up yet. But I am sure there is much hope after clomid. They can do many other things. Trust me.

I failed the clomid challenge due to my age (39 at the time). They suggested IVF right off the bat and told me to "hurry up" Nice huh?? When you see your RE ask him what he would consider doing if you don't do well with the test that way you can start doing some research and looking at statistics. Good luck and hopefully it is only implantation bleeding!!

MaryAnn - lets hope for the best and think it might be implantation spotting! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Try to be as positive as you can be.

Well, AF is definately here! and four days early! Definately not implantation spotting or prog suppository spotting either http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/hammer.gif(the nurse thought it may be spotting due to that) Oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks for all the support fellow fertility friends http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif, I love coming here to celebrate and commersuate! I had my cry about a week ago when I was feeling blue. I hope to be a candiate for IVF! I am willing and ready to go if my follies are up to the challenge! Will keep ya'll posted http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

What exactly is a clomid challenge test? I have taken lots of clomid, but never heard of that particular test before.

Clomid Challenge Test is a way to test your egg quality. On day 3 of your mens. cycle you have your FSH (follicle stim. hormone)and estradiol levels checked. Then you take clomid 100 mg per day on days 5-9. Then on day 10 you check the FSH and estradiol again. If the numbers come back high they know that your eggs may not be good quality or you don't have much of a reserve left. The follies that remain are poor quality. I sure hope my test comes back normal. I am 32 and have been ttc for 9 or so years. I don't ovulate on a consistant basis. I was on Repronex for 2 cycles and produced 1 follie the second round http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif

I couldn't take the clomid with my glucophage this month because I have cysts, but if they go away, maybe I'll ask for that next month. Couldn't hurt, right?

Thanks, Momma! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gifHey October, you are right about the cysts. I have had a 3mm cyst on my left ovary for 2 months now. I was even on the repronex and it didn't effect the cyst. I have been on Clomid about 15 times, every other time or two resulted in a cyst. It is one of the side effects of Clomid. So, definately wait until the cysts go away, Clomid would definately feed them and make them bigger. I have to have another ultrasound before I start the challenge test, if I still have a cyst on my left side they might want to wait. Hopefully it's gone by now. I sure hope so, they make your AF a lot heavier! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/hammer.gif
