Is it really that strong enough to mimic a prescription ACE Inhibitor? Also did you have any success with taking the product? How much lower did your BP go?

Thanks

No data if it is as strong as an ACE inhibitor...the product claims to not have side effects like a real ACE inhibitor, so it probably is not as strong. The product is based on C-12 peptides derived from dairy products. Research and trials on the effectiveness are still ongoing; interest in this substance really began around 2006.

Small sample double-blind studies showed BP reductions with 200-400 mg in the range of 4.5 mm systolic and 6.5 mm diastolic (averaging studies). The effect appeared to develop over 4 weeks, and last for 2 additional weeks when supplements were halted.

Two obvious caveats: (1) the studies were small involving roughly 2 dozen participants, and (2) the reductions are not especially great.

Of course ANY reduction is good!!! For myself, I have been using the product for several years in conjunction with other supplements and (to the extent I can) the DASH diet and exercise. In short, doing everything right! Time will tell if drugs will be needed.

In my case because I combine approaches, I do not know if Twin Lab's product works by itself. But it appears safe, so you may wish to give it a try for 2-3 weeks and see if there is any measureable drop.

Good luck, and please report back to us what you find!
