I have noticed lately that I get so hot and my face gets so red when only doing slight exertion. For instance, I was working at a dinner at my church last night and got so hot from working so fast that my face got so red and I got so hot that I had to go outside to cool off. However, it takes so long for my face to not be so red and it is so embarassing when people keep asking me if I'm okay and tell me how red my face is. I'm just ready to avoid situations in which I have to be around people. I am post-menopausal and on a low dose estrogen patch for hot flashes but this isn't a hot flash; it's just like the thermostat in my body is stuck continuously. This is really starting to bother me very bad. What can I do short of just staying at home the rest of my life?

Did you have this before or after the estrogen patch. Try taking it off and see if this goes away. It could mean an overload of estrogen in your system. My sister had this for years when she started menapause and still does. It will come out of the blue that her face will get real red and hot or when she's stressed. But it goes away fast. She has never taken estrogen. Anything for that matter. Just let nature run it's course. Of course no doctor could tell her why that happens. Yes, menapause is a real bummer!!! Misty
