Hi all , well ive not posted on here in a while , but lately , my Husband and I have been wondering about something .....Our little guy Is 13mths old , he seems like an extremely smart and active little boy , really happy and in to everything of course !! But sometimes the way he expresses himself has us wondering ? He does do all the usual babbling and is soft spoken sometimes , but a lot of the time he is shouting and screeching and has this little 'language ' going on , he really looks like he is DEFINATELY saying something and he knows what he is saying !! If that makes any sense ???? I guess this isnt a worry , its just that we are first time parents and neither of us have been around a lot of babies so dont really know what is totally normal and what to look out for otherwise . He can be pretty alarming , like in restauraunts or just out and about , he will just shout and babble on and some people are like "oh , wow " and they will laugh and smile but you can kind of tell they are kind of thinking "he looks like a handful " !!! But he's really not , and the shouting is not done in anger or anything , its just ...shouting !!!
I guess im just looking for some feedback from other mommies to see how your kids are expressing themselves and if this is totally normal .
Anything would be great ...thanks ladies:)

Don't worry, my 15 month old DD does this ALL the time. DH and I just crack up because she sounds hilarious. And like you said, she definitely thinks she is saying something, although we can't comprehend a word of it. She will even chase the cat out of the family room yelling in her "language" and pointing at him. Too funny. I think it's normal and a good thing because clearly they are developing a way of talking but just aren't using words we can understand yet. ;)

My twelve month old daughter does the same thing. She talks in her own language in sentences all day long. Every now and then throwing in a word I know. I am guessing this is totally normal. I even read that as they are learning to talk, what they say they think sounds like what we said although it definitely doesnt. Good luck with your loud talker.

Jaxiee!!! Good to hear from you! I'm glad you and your family are doing well!
Grace has her own words too. She makes little sounds that are very strange sounding. I can't even type the way she says "kitty". And when she says "hi", she says "hi-deh". The only reason I can think of for her saying it that way is because I say "hi buddy" a lot! She will also have conversations with us, and I know in her mind she is saying something real. It is too cute!
My friends daughter, who is a year older, had this very strange language when she was Grace's age. She would hold conversations with you and get this very serious look on her face. It sounded like chinese or something.
So don't worry, it is completely normal!
