how long does an outbreak of genital herpes usually last and why does it deside it wants to comes out ? is there anything you can do to stop it coming out? and can it cause any everlasting damage ?

Herpes usually lasts 2 weeks, but the nerve ending pain can last for awhile with no damage to the tissue or nerves. The virus has a mind of it's own but, stress, sun, illness, your hormones, can bring on an outbreak.
