I had dysplasia removed from my cervix 7 years ago. i have a pap smear every year with all good results.
My question is this...i have been reading about hpv 16 causing oral cancer. Is my husband or myself at risk for this?

It sounds to me like you have/had some strain of HPV to have been diagnosed with dysplasia 7 years ago. If you and your husband have had any sexual contact (and I assume you have), then you have shared the strains of HPV that you each could have brought to the relationship.
I think the chances of oral cancer (for you or him - from HPV) is very small. The greater concern (as I understand it) is with cervical, vaginal, or vulvar cancers. I'm glad to know you are getting paps every year.
I don't know how old you are, but if you are over 30, you might ask your doctor to do an HPV/dna test the next time he/she does your pap. That will help give you more information about what HPV could be doing in your body.
I hope that helps!
