I had an 8 week check today. The doctor said it seems to be healing well. There is a plate and six screws. He said the tingling I've been feeling on the top of my foot is normal healing. It should eventually go away. The "pulling" in the heel of my foot is just from walking weird. It should go away too. I also asked about the chances of the same thing happening to the other toe. He said that what happened with the left big toe was due to trauma at some point. So unless I also had trauma to the right big toe at some point, it shouldn't progress to the point that this one did. And even if it did, there is nothing that can really be done to stop the progression to the point that mine was.

He also said that I can now put full weight on my whole foot as long as I have the boot on. He said I could take the boot off and leave it off as much as I want (including sleeping without it), but if I walk without the boot, I MUST use the crutches and only walk on the heel.

I go back in another six weeks.
