My daughter and I are both overweight. She has been having a problem for a few years now where boils (large dark sores without a head) arise on her inner thighs or even around her private area. They often times burst and produce a quantity of pus and then very dark blood leaving a scar as well as a dark colored area. Along with this she produces a fishy odor that we assumed was yeast related but she tests negative on all tests given by the doctors. She has been to see family doctor, gynocologist, and dermatologist but no one has offered her a solution. She has been on antibiotics and uses a very expensive soap the dermatologist recommended for her but nothing helps.

Does anyone have any knowledge or solutions for these problems? Any advice would help.

Thanks!

I just did a quick google search on "fishy body odor" and found this term, trimethylaminuria. There is no cure, but there were suggestions for helping to control the odor, such as modifying the diet and taking doses of activated charcoal and vitamin b2 ( Riboflavin). But it all should be done under a doctors close supervision. Maybe you could start by looking up that term, trimethylaminuria and going from there. I hope you and your daughter can get to a healthy weight and can find a soultion for her skin/odor problems. It has to be really miserable for her. Good luck to you!
