Reading some of your posts have posed some questions...how is one to vacume with crutches? How about tackle the stairs? I live alone...it should be quite interesting trying to adjust to this lifestyle. I have a punching bag downstairs. To get a little bit of cardio excersize in, my intent is to sit in a chair with my leg propped up and beat the bag for awhile. I cant think of anything else to do but excersize bands and weights. I recently put on a lot of muscle and now I'm sure I will lose muscle and cardio gains. Can anyone give educated opinions on making life easier for cleaning/working out and anything else you can think of?

How long will you be NWB? The knee scooter was a great help to me. With that you can have at least one hand free and if you are stationary (like at the sink, etc) you can set the brake and have both hands free. Vacuuming is a trick even with the scooter but you can do small areas at a time. Its also a good upper body workout.

Also for working out the upper body I have a 12lb. bar at home (Its a padded bar about the length of a broomstick) that you can do several upper body exercises with. It also comes in 14 lb. and probably heavier but that's above my level. You'd be surprised at the workout you can get with that while you are sitting.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
