I'm getting my left bunion corrected this coming Wednesday (lapidus procedure) - For the past few years I've had aches and pains that in my opinion are premature for my 35 years of life....I'm wondering/hoping that maybe the pains i've been having are radiating from my bunion. (walking funny and compensating?) I've had hip pain and lower back pain. I used to run 35 miles per week now I cant run 1 mile per week (hoping to change that after surgery). Has anyone had any "other" pains relieved by a bunionectomy??? I think I'm wishful thinking.

Has your doctor given you or told you that you need orthodics? I got them and was surprised how they corrected the way I walked. I have flat feet and didn't realize how when I walked my knees and hips were misaligned.
Hope your upcoming surgery makes your feel better.

I have flexible flat feet and have been using custom made orthodics for 6 months. Prior to that it was store bought. Yes they helped the pain but I'm still throbbing at night when I go to bed and I'm still unable to run. I am optimistic that once both my feet are done i'll feel better in general!
