I slammed my thumb nail in a desk drawer about (2) months ago. Of course a large bruise (dried blood?) formed under the nail. I now notice what appears to be a new nail growing. Is that possible? The dried blood is now coming to the surface where I think a new nail is growing. Is that possible?

The Matrix will continue to produce new nail plate cells which will push the damaged portion forward until it grows off the free edge.
