On Friday my 6th month old got his flu along with the other shots they give. Today which is Sunday he started to throw up and wants to sleep. He isn't acting himself. Is this normal or something to be concerned about? Thank you for your time Brandi Griffin

I'm not sure exactly what symptoms the flu shot can cause, but I know that the shots they typically give 6 month olds can cause these symptoms, however they usually begin within 12 hours of recieving the shots, so maybe he picked up a bug. Does he have a fever?

I am not sure but I would call the pediatrician. It could always be a bug, but it could be from any of the shots he received, not necessarily the flu shot. My daughter has gotten every vaccination, even though they scare me a little, but if she was having symptoms like that I might even consider taking her to the ER.

Just call the pediatrition and see what they say. The other posters are right...it could just be a stomach bug. Try giving him pedialyte or just plain water in his bottle. The main goal is to keep him hydrated if he is throwing up. Poor little guy:( Please keep us posted.

My 7 month old DD was throwing up also. She did not have a flu shot, however. It was something going around, but I never got it and neither did the children at her daycare. My DH did. She threw up all night long one night until she didn't have anything left. No fever. She finally went to sleep for the night around 1am. The next morning at 7am she seemed fine. Wanted to play. So I made her a 4oz bottle of formula and she immediately threw it up. Still no fever. I called the on-call dr and he said to give her pedialyte for 8 hours and if she did not keep that down, we would need to go to the ER to be sure she wasn't dehydrated. She did fine. However, she did continue to throw up in her crib once in the middle of the night for 5 nights straight. She was happy and eating during the daytime, but every night she threw up. I guess she finally got it out of her system. Oh and one tip, change your baby's diaper often when drinking pedialyte, it fills up fast!

There must be some icky thing going around! We were at the mall today and DH took our 2.5 yr. old daughter out of the car and as she was over his shoulder she threw up all over him:( It didn't look like anything but water, but after that she was fine, no fever, but she was running everywhere through the mall and smiling and laughing, and she even ate a good dinner. So who knows (I guess my family will if we're all barfing this week, lol!) It's just that time of the year you can't always escape it.
