I don't want to start another thread just for this, but I noticed on one of the above messages someone mentioned the Aldara cream hurting? I've had two applications since I was diagnosed last week (straight after intense cryo!) and i'm noticing an extreme stinging pain down there when I move at all and especially when I pee. Is this because of the Aldara? It was quite bad today and I had a salt water bath but that didn't do much to help. My dr gave me some gel to numb the area which seems to help.

Hello! yes, The pain when sitting and peeing is a side effect of aldara. I also had intances where i got blisters down there because of the cream and when i doctor looked at it, she told me I had herpes.. I was devistated then.. and until I found out if I had it or not.. in the mean time, I did reasearch about the side effects and those blister like symptoms, swelling, pain, all that was due to the cream... and come to find out i didnt have herpes because it was just a side effect from the cream!

My first outbreak has gone and i'm so happy! I got diagnosed little more than a week ago, and had cryo and Aldara and now it's all gone! I know it may come back, and i'll still have the virus but i'm more hopeful now that I can deal with it. I hope this comforts some of the other new people that have just been diagnosed.

One question though, i'm still in quite a bit of pain from the cream, will that go soon? It's just so uncomfortable!

Im surprised it is working already! awesome.

Im still waiting for mine to clear up. It looks like they are going down though, which is good.

I dunno, how long the stinging is supposed to last... but man oh man that is uncomfortable medication!
