I had surgery 8 mo. ago for a complete total foot reconstruction. I had 6 procedures with 100 stitches and 6 incisions.....recovery has been slow, but after 8 mo. I am walking well but with some pain. My main problem is the continuous swelling of my whole leg, ankle, and foot
once I am up and working. I teach and it is impossible to put my foot up a lot....I also travel between several schools.

Why does the swelling continue after so long? I also had a total knee replacement a year prior on the same leg. All has healed well as xrays show. I may have to have one small cylincer removed if the pain continues.

I worry about the constant edema. Has anyone else had a similar situation?
