What is MERCER? Do you mean MRSA? Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus pronounced mersa? Do you mean you had the whole toe (x2) removed and a bone spur is growing at the end of the metatarsal?

left foot had 2 toes nearest the great toe removed
Right foot had great toe rewmoved 5 years ago

Dr that removed the 2 on left toe says the bone is growing back ,which is causing calus on bottom of foot below the 2 removed toes.
This causes great pain in that foot .
He has me in steel shank shoes and also is going to release a ligament in the ankle area!

I wore a Wound vac for almost a year trying to heal that toe amputated area

Says the procedure will be done with me semi awake

I've just never heard of a dead bone growing back ?

If the toe was not removed at the joint and the bone was cut then at the end of that bone it is common for new bone to grow over time. That is what it sounds like is happening in your case. Local with sedation is fine for that kind of clean up/remodeling procedure.
