Greetings,
Just wondering if anyone deals with constant stomach discomfort such as burning, pain, and complicated bowel habits. Sometimes normal, but mosly soft or ribbony, or need to go several times through the day to feel relief.
Got a CT done will know results in a few days, but the stress and worry has me worn out. Have 2 older kids and am busy with them but always feel like poop. (sorry) Alwyas feel tired and out of sorts. Prilosec and Zantac don't help much anymore. Does anyone have any homeopathic or diet suggestions? Losing appetite as everything bothers my stomach too.
:(

Acidophilus is a great supplement to take with IBS issues. It is a capsule of good bacteria to help to level the gut flora and immune system. It also assist with the digestive system relating to IBS. Normally you get acidpohilus from yogurt, but you need to eat at least 30 tubs to get the right dosage which is just from one capsule =] Certain foods as well will cos the intestines to flare or upset the stomach to make you go to the toilet. Treatment of IBS is comprehensive and based on individual symptoms. Treatment methods employed include dietary changes, medications and reduction of stressors.

Many people have already modified their diets before seeing a doctor. Temporarily avoiding dairy products may help assess whether symptoms of lactose intolerance are mimicking those of irritable bowel syndrome. Persons who avoid dairy products should exercise and consider taking calcium supplements. Certain foods, such as cruciferous vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts) and legumes (beans) may worsen bloating and gassiness. Increasing fibre content may aid to relieve constipation.
Medications are an important part of relieving symptoms. Your doctor may suggest fibre supplements or occasional laxatives for constipation, as well as medicines to decrease diarrhoea, tranquilisers to calm you, or drugs that control colon muscle spasms to reduce abdominal pain. Antidepressants may also relieve some symptoms. It is also important to note that medications affect people differently and that no one medication or combination of medications will work for everyone with IBS. You need to work with your doctor to find the best combination of medicine, diet, counseling, and support to control your symptoms.

Thanks for this info, Joan. I have been unable to hit on just the right combination of fiber, supplements and diet to relieve my constant bloating and belching. It seems that when I treat my constipation, it makes the bloating worse. I was up all night long with the belching, and could hardly breathe because I'm so bloated. It's very frustrating. :(
