Hi, I'd be interested to hear from other people in th UK who have had problems getting tested and diagnosed. I have had symptoms for 5 years now. I had an eye test and lumber puncture 8 weeks ago and I still haven't got the results, when I phone the hospital they tell me to phone my GP and when I phone the GP they tell me to phone the hospital. All my symptoms look like ms and my neurologist suspects ms, but I feel in limbo, especially as I can't discuss it with friends and family (except my husband) as I am not diagnosed. Meanwhile my symptoms are getting worse and I am finding it hard to work as I can't stand for any length of time. Thanks for any advice.
Maggie.

I feel so bad for you. No patient should ever ever be put in a situation where you feel as if you are not important enough for at least an inital phone call and or attention from your doctor. Waiting 8 weeks is insane! You need to phone your doctors office and tell them if you do not receive your test results, you will go above them and report this to a superior/chief of staff above your doctor! I work in the medical field and hearing your agony just brakes my heart. Good luck!

Hi, that is rubbish - I really feel for you. Are there any MS nurses at your hospital? I go to the QMC in Nottingham and the MS nurses are fab and would help I'm sure (if they are available in your area). The stress won't b helping you - perhaps you could try calling them A LOT until they get so sick of you they hve to take action. Or you could try your MP. You'd be amazed what an MP's letter can achieve. I used to work at the DSS and an MP's letter always went straight to the big boss in his eyrie.

Hi,
Many thanks for your support. I have spent some time on the phone yesterday to both the hospital and GP. It seems the hospital had my results on the 22nd of October and sent them to my GP on the 4th of November. I now have an appointment to see my GP a week today.
Thanks for your replys, I find this message board a great help!
