it can be a nerve flow problem or a vascular(blood flow) problem,both can create what you asked about. what other symptoms are you having,any pain in the neck or upper back areas or in the shoulder? what finger or fingers seem to be affected? FB

Does it happen is cold environments, if so it may be raynaud's disease.
