I'm waiting to have my MRI next week. I've been having all kinds of leg issues lately, etc. For the past 5-6 months, I"ve had pain when taking a deep breath upon wakening along with pressure/discomfort around and under ribs/diaghram area. This happens 5-7 days a week (at least). It takes a couple minutes of taking shallow breaths to have the pain dissapear and to be able to fully expand my lungs. The sensation is as if I've been hit in the ribs and also feels like I've done a hundred sit ups. I know it sounds crazy, but it's the most frightening feeling and the doc didn't say too much yet. I'm 40 years old and basically a very healthy person with the exception of these new symptoms. Has anyone with MS experienced this? I'm not diagnosed...still in limbo.

Ask your doctor about the infamous MS Hug. I know that when my MS reaches out to touch me, I have trouble getting my breath. Maybe the doctors can invent an unlisted body or caller id- then it will not be able to reach out and touch anymore!;)

Like Jayhawk said, the MS hug. Mine were, fortunately not so severe, but they would double we over. Been lucky in that its been several months since my last one. I hope that you are able to get some help for yours.
