i am 19 years old and suffer from ocd, social phobia and fibromyalgia... but because i have other things wrong with me, people dont really take my fibromyalgia that seriously..it causes me alot of pain..i always have pain in my back and legs..its hard for me to do many things like drive and walk up stairs..i try to get doctors to listen but they dont ever give me anything that really helps..i am also always tired and can never sleep at night. so it would be very helpful if someone could tell me differnt medicince or treatment or things that they have done...

I've tried a great number of treatments and medications, all with zero-to-little success. <removed>

Hi Gummy:
I noticed you reside in Canada. I've listed some physicians who treat FMS in Canada. Of course, I have no clue if you are close to any of them.
Dr. Gordon Ko, M.D., FRCPC
Dr. George Traitses DC
Dr. Hana Weidenfeld ND
Canadian Centre for Integrative Medicine
Markham, Ontario, Canada L3P 1A2
Naturopathic Medicine
Toronto, ONTARIO, M4R181
Dr. Sean Ceaser, N.D.
Specialties: Diabetes, HG, FMS, Menopause
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Paul Jaconello, M.D.
Toronto, Ontario CANADA M4K 3T1
Keep looking for the right physician. There's an awful lot of lemons, but there are also some jewels. There is too much controversy as to what causes FMS, so there will be varying degrees of belief you will need to overcome as you pursue your path to success.
Bye!

Hi Gummy,
I'm sorry that you're so young having this. There are books written by Devin Starlanyl MD, she has it along with myofascial disease too, as i have.
Everything that you'd want answers for is in those books. It is so thorough.
My primary doctor gives me plain Ambien for sleep, Elavil for depression, Soma for pain and relaxing muscle spasms. There's also Flexeril if my muscle spasms are unusually tight.
My pain specialist gives me Vicadin for when I can't take it any more pain aslo an anti nausea drug. As long as I'm down I'm alright, but if I'm up over 10 minutes, I'll barf. He also does trigger point injections, nerve blocks, ablations and implants stimulators to short curcuit nerves to stop pain. He's an amazing man. He is very much the pain drug over seer and you had best do as he says. The are both wonderful doctors. Ice helps me mostly, but on occasion I use moist heat.
Write notes about questions that you want to ask him on your next appointment. Learn all that you can, it makes you sound more creditable.
Hope that this helps a little.
