Hi all! I had a hysterectomy when I was 40(almost 12 years ago) and it was just prior to that that I began to have what I thought was perimenopausal mood swings. The pdoc I had at that time thought it was the start of bipolar II. I was treated at that time also for panic disorder and depression. As the years have gone by(since 1997), I really notice with the appearance of the moon, my moods really take a turn for the worst! Either I'm tense and agitated, or I feel like the world crashes around me. Is this more of a hormonal thing after all these years, or is it a true bipolar? I do know that I can't be on an antidepressant by itself or I'm as jumpy as a cat. I have gone back and forth with this bipolar thing for years and every pdoc that I've spoken to says it might be bipolar, but no one gives a true firm diagnosis. If anyone has any ideas or has felt similar, please drop a line. Also, the same thing happens to my sister, so I know it's a familial thing evidently. Thanks so much--Hopeto--
