Hi. I had been suffering from PET - Patulous Eustatian tube in my left ear for only 2 weeks, but it seemed like months. The constant talking into a bucket sound in my head was driving me crazy! I hated talking as that seemed to make it worse, I was becoming very irritated with life, my kids, and those around me. It came on so suddenly and I have no idea what caused it - just showed up one day. I, like all suffering from this, got relief when I put my head between my legs, or if I laid down.
Anyway....for those out there who may also be suffering, please try this to see if it helps you! I went to a chiropractor 2 days ago and he aligned my neck, and "popped" my shoulder joint as well as worked on several tightened muscles in and around my shoulder and neck. He was telling me that a muscle group and/or joint can be so tight it can actually pull your neck out of alignment as well as (in my case) it was pulling my eustatian tube and holding it open!
I had about 30% relief that first afternoon, yesterday about 60% relief, and today I haven't had it at all (yet). I am just on cloud nine, and wanted to share it with whomever I could! I know it's not the solution for all those suffering from PET, but hopefully some may find relief from this frusterating disorder.

Sarah370:
Thank you so much for posting this; I suggest you take a look at the thread "Patulous Eustachian" in the Inner Ear Disorders forum. You might reach a larger group at that thread.
I've gone to my chiropractor for the same reason, but so far have not had the results you've reported. I may give it another try though...
