Hi- I had a scary episode where the left side of my face felt numb/tingly. It then progressed to my left arm and leg. After a few minutes my face was ok but the feelings lingered in my left leg and arm. The next day, I went to the ER and was admitted for all kinds of tests. They initially thought I had a stroke but after all the tests were done, they said it didn't appear to be a stroke. I also saw a neurologist and he said he just didn't know the cause of the symptoms. He said it could have been from having migs/headaches for so many years. (Small spots showed up on the brain scan). Has anyone had this happen? I still have occasional symptoms in left leg. It feels like my leg is cold or that it has the chills. Today it's subtle, but feels like that in my face. This entire thing has made me scared. Has anyone heard of this?

Lynn. Hi i am new to these boards but i had a similar experience. i had a stroke 4 years ago and than presented with these symptoms so i went back to the neuro. i also had these spots. have yourself checked for antiphospholipid antibodies this can cause your platelets to become sticky and cause these symptoms (which could also be TIAs) They will put you on aspirin or Plavix if this is the case. But either way tell your dr. about this and if he doesnt listen find someone who will. your life is too precious not to get an answer.

Hi Lynn, I'm new to this place too....but I had these symptoms and loss of balance, always felt like I was falling even when I was standing. I experienced these symptoms all summer as I was too stubborn to tell anyone....then I finally woke up one morning with severe loss of balance and speaking so went to the VA then on to see the brain surgeon....then had the stroke while he was watching.....I guess I learned that we should not ignore our bodies....they will tell us when something is wrong...we just need to listen!
