I been having IBS for 5 yrs. I only get constipated when I have the mucus. and I'm very concern because it is a lot and it is not only with the stool it is by it self. I can discharge mucus every 10 minutes and it's driving me crazy. I'm currently going for Hypnosis sections and It's helping me but the mucus still there. I'm scared of having Cancer or something really bad. I had a colonoscopy 3 yrs ago and nothing was found. For some reason every time I discharge the mucus I get this really bad cramps on my legs, It's like working all day standing up and not being able to sit and you start getting pain in your legs. that's how it feels. Please help me I don't know what to do and I'm only 23 yrs old. Are there any pain killers? thanks for the help.

i would talk to a dr about that. the mucus is suppose to be there to lubercate when you have constipation, small amounts is nothing to worry about, i get alot of mucusy stools, i would research it to see if its ok to have mucus like that, i would get it where its ont he stool and when i wipe thats all it is for a wipe or 2, i read its a lubercant when you are constipated. but one thing i did read is too much can be a bad thing.

I'm 21 and I'm exactly the same. Had a colonoscopy a month ago and they said it was just IBS. I don't always have mucus but when i do.. i have to keep running toilet numerous times a day and i just pass mucus by itself. It's normally a orangey colour...... It's disgusting!! My tummy feels rumbly and thats when i know i need to go.

I dont think theres anything that can stop it, even Imodium doesn't calm mine down so any tips would be welcome.
