Hi girls http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif
Well, even though he didn't say a whole lot of new things, he did say that he wants to look into DH's function of sperm, he says that he is not comfortable w/ just an SA, so we are going to do 2 more rounds of clomid if AF shows up, and then if still no BFP, he wants to do a "hamster egg test" anyone ever heard of this?! He wants to see if the swimmers are properly penetrating the eggs, he is suspecting that may be the prob, not all the other things they were telling us about DH's swimmers. If the hamster test comes back fine, then he wants to proceed w/ a post coital test...he didn't explain the process of the test, so if any of know how it is done please let me know.
He also wants me to take some antibiotics when AF shows to make sure that I don't have an infection in the cervix, anyone heard of this??? He said some women have a rare disorder where there is an infection in the cervix and it stops the swimmers from getting anywhere!
They also did my CD 21 blood test today, and will let us know tomorrow, so I think this was a good change, he seems like he is going to go much farther in the studies before we start IUI's...hopefully this works and we won't have to go much longer on meds, and tests, etc.
Anyways, thanks for all your support girls!

Amber,
Don't know anything about the hamster test....sounds a little strange http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif but I have had a post-coital test. It's pretty simple, you just have to BD http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif somewhere between 2 to 24 hours before you go in (we did it the night before, so it was about 12 hours) and they put in a speculum and aspirate some of the CM from your cervix (just feels funny) and put it on a slide. They check the consistency of the CM and then look at it under a microscope to see how many spermies, how well formed, and how mobile they are. My RE let me look (my DH didn't come with that day so he missed it). It actually looked pretty cool, but was also disturbing to think that all that activity is going on inside you - my RE seemed to think it was pretty funny that it was creeping me out as he kept pointing at the different spermies....it was pretty funny. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif
Anyway, I guess the point of this is that is tells them not only how your DH is doing, but also how well your body is receiving them...(sometimes the Clomid can make your CM to thick to 'receive' well) ....the results were great, but still no pg, but it's pretty clear I don't have good eggs so that's what we are focusing on...
Good luck
Hey - just reread your post after mine went - now I'm not sure you were even asking about the post-coital - oh well - sorry if I rambled on about something you already knew! My bad! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/redface.gif

Hiya! I know about that Hamster test... it's kind of secondary stage of investigation. Hamsters ova are used so that you don't have supply eggs for 'just' testing and go through the drug treatment etc.
They just measure how well the sperm can penetrate and fuse with them... it's quite accurate apparently. Sounds weird, but at least you don't have to do much http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
I hopr that all that spotting wad a good sign..do let us know straight away about the blood test! Good luck http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif Sarka

Sarka,
I am so glad that you knew what the "hamster egg test" is, I didn't, and then when Older Woman said is sounded strange just like my DH did, I started thinking, is this guy just trying to get us to fork out more money!
I feel better knowing that someone has heard of it though! Did they do that w/ your DH??? If so, what was the outcome???
Anyways, thanks for all the encouraging words!
Only 3 more days for ya huh?! Are you excited to test or dreading it???
Talk to you soon!

Sarka,
Thanks for the kind words, but honestly I have a bad feeling, I think this cycle will be a BFN! I really don't want to see a - http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/mad.gif
I have some symptoms that could indicate pg'cy, but for some reason I am really doubting it! The same symptoms could just be the witch AF coming to town! Oh well, we will just move on if that is the case...DH & I should be used to the BFN's by now http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif
I hope you have a relaxing time getting the massage, get one for me, I could use one right about now, my shoulders are so tense they feel like they are stuck all the way to my ears http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/tongue.gif
Good luck on Sunday, please let us know...you never know it could be a BFP! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/angel.gif
