Hi Rose:
I have had a similar experience with improvement on the protocol I'm on. You should list what has worked for you so that others can benefit. Typically, FMS is a progressive syndrome.
Blessings,
Kirstee

hi rose,
i remember when it started and i feel alot better now than i did then. for myself, with finding my balance, i am better than i was. i remember the ways it used to manifest. i prefer now. so for me, yes i have gotten healthier, wiser, and after taking my chill pill i am content with the balance.
peace,

I was just diagnosed last year but probably have had the condition a long time. It wasn't until I was in extreme pain that I found out I had FM, before that I had GERD, IBS, Hiatal Hiernia, Hypothyroidism and lots of symptoms. However once it was diagnosed and received the right meds, supplements, exercise, sleep and massage, I have gotten tremendously better. I think diagnosis is key and everyone is different, so different protocols are in order for each person. I pray that each person with FM finds what works. Begin by reducing stress and working on sleep habits.

I have felt mine get progressively better and I think one main reason is because I'm acknowledging my pain now and not feeling trapped by it like I once was. I know it's there and every morning I have to start fresh again. I wake up achy and stiff and know I have to stretch. I now know that relaxing and lessening my anxiety helps. I know that lying in my hot tub for fifteen minutes every night helps. I also think Lyrica worked after a while. The winter is rough for me (it gets so cold in New York..) so I know to expect some pain. I guess what I'm getting at here is that a lot of it is mental.
Feel better.
Feel better.

I have really bad symptoms most days and have for years but it progressivly have gotten worse. This is when I finally found a doctor that listens to me and diagnosed me with FM. Now that I know what I have, I can treat it correctly without having to go to tons of specialists. This was such a huge relief to know what I have and not guessing. I'm in the beginning stages of treating it so I haven't gotten much relief yet but once I go to my pain management appt in January I'll be on the road to relief, hopefully!
Good luck, I really feel your pain and frustration!!

I hope it does not get worse. I think mine calms down to a bareable point for a while and then with no warning i am real bad. I hope someday i can get to the point where i am feeling like it is getting better.

Mine seems to have gotten worse. I am terribly stiff every morning and in a terrible mood from Fibro. I have to take Tramadol to get going.

For about the first 3 years after developing symptoms, I got worse. Then it was very bad for a couple years, but since then I've improved. Tricyclic antidepressants, massage therapy, a few private yoga lessons, a better bed, and, of course, God's grace.

I am still very young so time will tell. I'm 30, but I've had this since I was 20. For me, it has actually gotten much better over time. Again, I'm still very young and I know that 40 is the big jump for many. In my case, I have found treatments that help and also have found many alternative therapies to avoid taking daily prescription meds. I also lost 95 pounds and am on a strict diet regime. I had a food diary for a very long time and kept track of everything I ate so I could find what foods triggered spasms. Lastly, I exercise on a regular basis. I feel a lot better when I do some cardiovascular activity. Sometimes it's not much more than walking around the apartment, but I feel a LOT better and sleep a lot better when I'm active. Only time will tell though.
