im 20 years old and I had liposuction on my hips and bra fat area 6 days ago. I am 5'7 and weighed 185 lbs at the time of the surgery. My lipo was done under local anesthesia and thedoctor closed my incisions with stitches and told me to wear a compression garment. Im wearing two actually, one for the hips and an abdominal binder to cover the bra fat areas (the rolls under the bra strap) Today I took off the garments to take a look at my body and while I can say that my hips/love handles are gone, there is a portion near my underwearline where there are bulges on both sides and alot of bruising. Question is, are the bulges fat that he didnt remove properly, or are they just swollen? And im very disappointed to see that my bra fat rolls havent disappeared at all. Why?? Are they just swollen or what?
Oh I also wanted to add that I have been experiencing alot of itchiness everytime I take the garment off to shower and whatnot.. why is that?
PS- My compression garment is not a compression garment by definition... its one of those really tight fullbody shapers that women wear to suck themselves in under a dress or whatever... they look like bathing suits but they're not... its basically like SPANXX undergarments if you know what that is... and the doctor said that that is absolutely fine... is it? or was he just saying that??

Serena22,
Sorry to hear about that. After my Vaser liposuction, I was even surprised. There was no discomfort following my procedure. I actually only had one itty-bitty bruise.

Serena 22 - can you please let me know how everything turned out? How are your hips now? I am exactly 3 weeks post-op. I had lipo of the hips/flanks. While I can tell a fairly good amount of difference in my hips, it still looks very bulgy to me. The bruising is all gone. My husband says it's most likely still swollen, but it doesn't feel firm. It feels like fatty, cushy. Is this how yours was? I am still wearing a compression garment, but I don't know if it is doing much good. I wonder if this is fat that was not removed, or if it is indeed still swelling? I wouldn't think swelling would feel this cushy. Also, my doc removed 6.6 pounds of fat, but I haven't lost 6.6 pounds. . .that seems odd to me. Please let me know how it turned out for you. Thanks a bunch!

I had lipo two years ago in my inner and out thighs. Things were big for a while and lumpy, but eventually that all went away and everything thinned out. Most have patience with lipo

There can still be swelling after lipo for up to six months post op. If after 6 months you are still unhappy go back and see your surgeon.
I had lipo of the outer and back of thighs in january and my legs were numb and itchy for about 8 weeks after, but i couldnt feel myself scratching so I couldnt cure the itch!!! But now they are smooth and the swelling is gone and the difference is amazing!
(I was also very bruised afterwards, try taking arnica tablets, they helped with me)
