View Full Version : AF diff after meds - day 1 is when???!!

Hi all,
I did one round of treatment 2 cycles back (IUI, Clomid, Follistim) which failed. I then skipped last month. I was doing Progesterone suppositories during the treatment cycle and was told to stop after the BFN. My AF was strange after that - it came slower than normal and lasted longer than normal. Then, this cycle (natural), AF seemed a little early, but then again, I don't know where I was supposed to count day 1 from the last time. Now, AF is strange - yesterday it showed up very apparent - bright red, dripping. Today she seems darker and lighter, just spotting. I don't really care what AF is like, but I just want to figure out what day 1 is b/c RE said "first day of full flow before 5pm." For now, I am considering today day 1 and scheduled day 3 ultrasound and bloodwork for Sunday the 3rd. If I am too early, what would happen? I figure the cycle will be manipulated anyway, so as long as my lining and ovaries are ok, plus hormones, I can start the meds again. Sometimes this is so confusing! Any thoughts or opinions?
Thanks!

my RE always says "the first day of a true period" which he says is red and like "fresh blood." (TMI!!!) Maybe ask yourself, "would I attract a shark in the ocean today?" http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/eek.gif

laura1 - LOL! JLJ - thanks for your consensous!

I had an appointment yesterday (Day 3 monitoring), and RE said it doesn't have to be pinpointed exactly (as to which day is 1), as long as everything is calm (meaning hormones are correct level, neg. preg. test, lining ok, etc.).

Thanks again for your input!
