I am 38 and have wrinkles in my forehead that are really bugging me. Has anyone had botox done to fix this? I really have no clue about any procedures, so if there is something else that can be done please let me know.

I also have bad skin. When I was a teen I had severe acne and from that I have huge pores and still tend to break out every once in a while. Is this something that can be fixed by dermabrasion?

TIA, Mags

check out skin needling. I had never heard of it until my dermatologist suggested it. It is perfect for acne. I don't have acne but I do have roseaca and wrinkles. I was scared at first thinking about it but the procedure wasn't bad. Your face is numbed and a little roller is rolled back and forth across the skin. My face was very red afterwards and very swollen. (didn't leave the house for about 4 days) I had no pain afterwards. The cool thing is the procedure is safe and it encourages your collegan to fill in. It take about 3-4 months though to get the end results. It has been about 5 weeks for me. My skin is getting tighter and filling out. My wrinkles around my eyes are fading away. I don't have wrinkles above my lip now. I can't wait for the end result. look it up and ask your doctor about it.

Botox is one of the most widely used cosmetic procedures around the world these days, with its easy, non-surgical procedure that reduces wrinkles and lines in the facial and chin area. Women are the largest recipients of Botox, but men are increasingly opting for the procedure themselves in order to reduce deep wrinkles around the eyes or mouth.

Botox is a protein that is produced by Clostridium botulinum, which helps keep the muscles from moving in certain areas prone to wrinkles, especially the areas around the eyes, lips and forehead.

Above all the treatment is quick and simple, Botox is comprised of non-surgical injections that take place within a ten minute session. Within a few minutes, deep lines and wrinkles begin to smooth and show improvement, and continue to produce results for weeks to come.

And as far as the bad skin and huge pores are concernec, dermabrasion is a good option,it is used to improve the facial skin that may have been scarred by either surgeries or accidents, or most commonly used to smooth skin that has fine lines or wrinkles. Another form of dermabrasion is dermaplaning, which is used to treat those who have been affected with deep acne scars.

Some patients opt to use dermabrasion when they are going in for other procedures like a facelift, or a chemical peel. While dermabrasion is a great solution for smoothing out the skin tone or reducing the appearance of scars, it does not prevent aging or remove the entire appearance of scar tissue.

I had TRAINTRACKS across my forhead since I was a TEEN and always hated it. last year i finally decided to go for it and got bOTOX. OMG some of the best money I ever spent. Worth every penny. My forhead is now SMOOOOOTH and I feel at leats 5 years younger. Please be aware that the first time the Dr. doesm't know yor face and you might need to go back fo a touch up. Sometime you end up with SPOCK eyebrows. No big deal the Dr. can fix it easy and tn knows for next time where to add a touch more BOTOX. Botox take 3-10 days to kick in and see results.

Whoops almost forgot. if you get alot of botox you an get the frozen face look. For me it always is this way at FIRST and within a week i have a bit of wiggle;)

Oh yeah about the dermabrasion. I tried this and my skin just was sanded off and then grew back the same. seemed alot of pain for NOTHING to me. Just the other day I tried LASER for red viens and it knocked out alot of the redness. I was quite impressed.

I Have really deep wrinkles(i would call them creases) on my forehaed and labial folds. I have done acid peels at my dermotoligist and also been on retin-A and tazorac for years. I am finally going to a plastic surgeon I trust. (after going to 5) I am going to try the new fractional co2 laser. My final consult is Fri Jan 30. I will be getting the laser done about Feb 16th so will let you know how much it helps with the wrinkles.;)
