Hi I am a 31 yr old male, living in South Africa, over the past three years I get agonising cramps mainly in the morning, for around two to three months at a time. I have been to see countless doctors and gastroentorologists, to no avail, one suggested that I may have IBS and has now put me on Librax and Probiotics - now some days I have no pain at all, while on other days there is severe pain

Symptoms

Severe cramping in the lower abdomen, mainly in the mornings, sometimes in the evening and afternoon

No diarehea
No constipation
No nausea

Alot of gas, while there is pain

The pain lasts for about three hours, then dissappears, and I am perfectly fine, I have changed my diet and no longer eat any lactose or wheat.

I have been for a number of tests

Blood tests for virus and bacterias
Full blood counts
X-rays
Colonoscopy
Stool Analysis
Sonar
CT-Scans

They have all returned negative

I have no family history of Crohn's disease, or any other ulcerative conditions, and am not sure if this is IBS

P.S - not sure if this is relevant, but if I'm driving while I have the pain and get stuck in gridlock - it gets worse - if there is no pain and i am stuck in traffic there is no pain

Smoking while I have the pain seems to help

I appreciate any advice and suggestions you may have

It sounds like IBS to me, the important thing is, anything serious has been ruled out. My main symptoms are pain (but not always), tummy gurgles (almost constant), wind (too often). I have been medically diagnosed, had all the tests. If you find anything that helps the embarrassing wind I'd like to know. I have many days when I just can't leave the house.
Good luck.

Well, I have had a food intolerance test done, couldn't handle the trial and painful error method my gastroentorologist had me on, I have a sever intolerance towards bakers and brewers yeast, and a gluten intolerance - Barley, wheat, rye, and oats, and milder intolerance to apple, banana, egg white and strawberry

Are there any alcoholic drinks I can still enjoy with these intolerances ?

Any advice welcomed
