We have been trying for the past month to give her fresh home cooked foods, pureed or mashed, but she hates it, she only likes her canned baby food, which I hate.
She also gaggs on anything a little thicker, even fresh mashed up sweet potatos, she doesnt eat any of her figer foods, she even gags on cheerios, she has her top 4 teeth in and 3 lower teeth. I read everywhere that my 9 months she should be eating finger foods, but she doesnt.

anyone else like this? and how can I have her eat fresh food instead of the cans and jars? atleast the veggies?

My ds was exactly this way! He's now 18 months, and eats solids like a pro, but he couldn't tolerate anything with a thicker texture (even mashed potatoes or thicker baby foods like creamed corn) until he was quite old. We started introducing finger foods around 7 months, and it was really give or take--sometimes he could eat a few puffs or cheerios with no problems, and sometimes he would throw up like, everything in his stomach because of his super sensitive gag reflex! It was terrible... So jars of baby food (the beginner, or stage 2 food--never stage 3 because much of it has chunks of things like veggies or small pieces of meat), was mainly what he ate until he was about 14 months. We kept trying new things, different textures, and it just really depended on the day....

I bet your eager to get your lo off the jars of food, but I think sometimes it just takes time. I know at Liam's 1 year check up, the doctor asked if we'd like to see a speech pathologist (apparently they work with things like that as well), but at that time he was really beginning to make progress, so I said that if he regressed, or stopped making progress at all, we would take him. But we never did need to, and like I say, since about 14 months, it's been smooth sailing.

So, try to be patient! I know there's a lot of pressure to have your baby off baby food by about a year, but for some kids it just takes longer. And 9 months is still pretty young, so I'm sure she'll be just fine on solids before you know it.

My 14 month old was the same exact way, only we would gag and vomit, as an added bonus. Just be patient and take it slow. She'll come around eventually. My son finally is, but we are still on a little jarred baby food here and there. We'll get there and so will you.

The guidelines that all parents are given are just that--guidelines. No 2 children are the same. As far as not eating the pureed or mashed foods, maybe think them a bit with some formula or breastmilk. She may not be ready for the cheerios yet either. Try not to force the issue.....she'll eat when she's ready.
