I had a stapes replacement first one on my left ear back in 1968 and the right ear in the 80's, right ear a bit better than left. left is now getting shishing noises I was told tinitus. I have to wear hearing aides is both ears.
I want to find a dr. who will give me advice about doing the surgery over so I would not have to wear hearing aids after all that is why I got the surgeries. too hear. I was told that the small wires they put in, in replacement to the stapes bone. has scar tissue. well can't they go in and clean the scar tissue off and replace the wire so I can hear.
and no you can not get a mri. if your ears have these little wires in them to take the place of the stapes bone.
Hope this helps and if you have any advice for me. I like to hear it.
