I have just started taking the combination pill, and have discovered i am allergic to it, it makes me vomit pretty bad. i tried to go on the pill two years ago but the same thing happened, i switched pills but still no luck. my body just doesnt react well to it.

are there any other contraceptives i can use, i mean i dont just want to rely on condoms, i would worry that if it ever broke, and i had to take the morning after pill, i would sick that out too. would the implant cause me to be sick? or is it just because the pill goes into my stomach, and my stomach cant take it? its really upsetting me because i dont want to have sex with my boyfriend until i get this sorted, can anyone help, has this happened to anyone else?

thanks :)

You could ask your doctor about trying the Depo shot...my doctor has said that sometimes it's the estrogen that makes people sick to their stomach, and I'm pretty sure that Depo doesn't have any. Plus it's way more convenient than having to take the pill every day...I was on it for about 5 years and loved it. Just an idea. :)

I tried 2 regular combination pills, two low dose pills, Nuva Ring and the bc Patch. ALL of them made me sick! and i dont mean nauseous sick..I mean very, very sick. BUT, I switched to the shot a year ago, and, tada, no more being sick! It's definately the estrogen that does it. The Depo shot is the only thing I've found that is Progesterone only. and It works great. Definately talk to your doctor about it!
