View Full Version : Is it really IBS?

About five years ago I was getting a lot of pain across the chest and down both sides of the body, and very bad 'night pains'. I had some blood tests and a scan and was finally told I had a large gall stone and needed to have the gall bladder removed. It was removed about two and a half years ago-but apart from the night pain which has gone-all the other pains are still there. I've since been told it's 'probably' IBS. I recently went back to the doctor as the symptoms were a lot worse and he checked there was nothing there that shouldn't be there-but apart from that he was not much help at all. I have a list of food I shouldn't eat because I don't have a gall bladder and another list of food not to eat because it's 'probably' IBS-which doesn't really leave much to eat at all. He also told me to try to cut out wheat as well. Is anyone else in the same boat-IBS and no gall bladder? Is there anything I can do to lessen these never ending pains-my husband thinks I'm making them up half the time I'm sure. Any help would be gratefully received.
