Hi,
Im not quite sure whats going on w/ me but I was hoping some of you can share what the pain of fibro feels like. I realize everyone is different but was just hoping to get an idea.
Ive been to 2 Rhumys. One says Fibro by squeazing my upper arms and getting an Ouch reaction. The other says no. She said, I would have Tender points and I would pretty much jump up after she touched those points (Not just feel tenderness there).
Ive been thru hell. Thinking, its possible ALS.
I woke up one morning 6 weeks ago..........widespread muscle pain, out of the blue. The intensity comes & goes, altho, it has NEVER gone away. Most days, it interupts my life. :(
When I lean my elbow, lets say on my thigh, it hurts! When i cross my legs, my calves hurt. Its the calves, the thighs, the upper/lower arms & sometimes the neck. Whats most bothersome is when I walk, it feels like :(my thighs cant hold me up because of the pain??
I get cramps, like when you get your period..........those sort in my legs.
I have this "bubbly, (like air bubbles) feelings under my skin. Twitches, all the time! Of course, I feel it mostly when I lye down.
Ive had everyyyyyyyy Test so far but still cant help but wonder........
Can I hear about your pain & trigger points, ect?
Blessings!
Rachel

Hi,
I will try to explain as best I can. There are many points on my body which cause me to jump and wince, sometimes just yell "Ow" if they are touched.
Sometimes, my legs, esp. calves, just ache and ache (I also have RLS and hypermobility). Sometimes, it's my arms, shoulders, neck, and sometimes I cannot lie on my back in bed because of the pressure on the trigger/tender points.
Fatigue is also part of fibro. Not just ordinary fatigue, overwhelming, incapacitating fatigue, where I can find it a chore to even change into my pj's at the end of the day. Migraines can come with it, too.
On weakness, yes, I can feel very weak in the arms and legs, almost as if I won't be able to walk. It comes and goes.
I don't have the creeping sensations under my skin that you describe, except from the RLS in my legs.
That's all I can think of. I'm sure others will have more to share with you.

hi there! i've had fibro plus other spine and degenerative joints...my doc said i would'nt know if i was having a fibro flare or something else was flaring. i still after 30+ yrs of fibro, have them do testing..mri etc. to rule out anything else. thought i had ms more than once because of my weak muscles...bumping into things, losing my balance etc.
fibro gives you joint/muscle pain...weakness...chronic fatigue...alot of headaches..aching all over like you have the flu/sharp pain...burning/numbness....ibs. these are daily things with me, a flareup is when all these things severly act up like 100 times more. a flare can last for any length of time...lesser time is what i like..lol.
i hope this helped you somewhat...sorry your feeling so lousy, we are all here for you...take care, bevann

Bevann,
I also have noticed being off balance sometimes and dropping things, my hands will jerk at times. Is this part of the fibro, too?
