Hello everyone, As you know I will be going for an ACDF Dec,26 on the C5-6
& was pretty convinced after meeting with the surgeon that was what was needed. Well shortly after I was hit from behind with a grocery cart, hard enough to snap my neck back & send me flying.
Every since then I have had esculated pain in the right arm & lower back.
Before this all the symptoms matched up to the C-56 with the thumb & other areas. Now I have more problems then ever & the majority of the pain & problems are in the middle, ring & pinky area. Actually the entire arm hurts as well as the left. Could this still be coming from the C5-6?
I mentioned it to the surgeon & he said it did not change the surgery plans, but I am worried. The pain is unreal & getting the headaches & pain even deep in the throat, strange. Another is my ear, I have been having a burning sensation on the outer part. Does any of this sound familier?

I know the hit from the cart did something. Does not take genious to figure that out. After everything hurt worse & the right side pain increased like crazy in the upper area & right side along with my lower back. I want to make sure that I am not having surgery done & will come home with all this other pain still existing.
I would really like some advice or opinions. Really worried as this hurts like mad & has me up everynight. Thanks & god bless, Sammy

PS sky I am worried about you, have not heard from you. Hope you are just busy with school & all is well. By the way the collar brand is aspen. Whats the reason for wanting to know the brand, hopefully I have a good one.

That sounds like a whiplash. Before you go on the surgery, insist on doing another mri to check what happened. Really sory to hear it happened to you.

I had an aspen, make sure you get extra pads from dr or medical supply as they get ickky pretty quickly. Some say use a silk scarf to help. I was in one 4.5 weeks and went thru 2 sets.

Thanks, the neck brace came with extra pads & as far as the cart my daughter was trying to read a magazine while she was pushing the cart & I was in a hurry so she was moving along pretty fast following me but not watching where she was going. All I know is since that day things have changed in my right side (cervical) & lower back.
I just want to know can 2 discs cause all this pain & problems? Can anyone tell me if this is the same for any of you? I guess I need some reassurance. I am getting pain deep down in the throat area, has anyone experianced anything like that?
I am a mess & its really getting to me. Sammy

Hey Sammers, Just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. I know I haven't been here in a long time, but I've had some non CP related medical problems and I've just been too wiped out to read and post. I'm doing better, slowly but surely, but I know I have a long road ahead of me. I'll try to pop in and catch up from time to time.

Please know that I'll be praying for you on the 26th. I'll be waiting to see an update when you are feeling up to it. Keep your chin up, sweetie, and know that you have so many friends wishing you the very best. I really have missed you girl.

Many hugs and good thoughts...... CMP/MM
