I suffered a grand mall seizure at age twelve.I am now sixty seven, and since age 12, have had a number of neurological symptoms. I have never had a seizure since but have some very unusual symptoms. I have seen many neurologists (just got out of the hospital for a video eeg)and many tests but to no avail. Could some one help me please?
My symptoms are:
shimmering. I see the world like everythig is shimmering sort of like driving down the road on a hot day and the heat off the road makes a shimmering effect 24/7.
Ill be in a lighted room and the lights will dim and return to light. Others say they dont see this happening.
finally, ever since the grand mall seizure I feel sort of out of body 24/7 a difficult symptom to describe.Sort of a spacie feeling, but fully aware of my surroundings.
I know these symptoms sound strange but they have plagued me sice age 12.
I have seen numerous doctors , been to counseling had anti-depressent drugs and still no help. I reaalize that I may only live for 10 to 20 years (God willing)left, but if only if thre was something out there that would help me. I would deeply be indebited
thankyou

I've just done an internet search for "shimmering vision" and it appears that you are not the only person suffering from this symptom. There are several discussion boards on the topic that may help you figure out what is going on. Doesn't sound like a fun symptom to have. Best of luck to you.
