Okay...I went to see my neuro this morning, & we discussed the fact that since I get such bad spasticity with avonex, after 13 years on it, then with rebif, after 3 months, she thinks maybe I should try copaxone, since it's not an interferon...I'm willing (not overjoyed at the thought of every day shots, but you do what you have to :( ) She wants me to try this before tysabri, and I agree, so, could anyone give me their opinion on this med please? Now I'm on the third of the ABC drugs!

Welcome to the site, fellow Ohioan! What part of the state are you from?

I'm not on Copaxone--I do Avonex (for now) but you might have really good results with it. There are lots of people here who are on it, and they have minimal side effects. The side effects will probably seem non-existent to you since you were on Avonex for so long!

You could also try Betaseron, another interferon. I don't know much about it, but in your case a non-interferon may be the best route. I totally agree to try Copaxone before Tysabri. I'm sure others on Copaxone will pipe in here pretty quickly. Good luck to you!

Hi, I had trouble with Rebif and the interferon side effects. I changed to Copaxone and have been on it for 2 months. I have to say it has been great. No side effects. I take my shot and continue with my day. I was concerned about injecting daily but it has become routine. Good luck if you decide to go with Copaxone. It is worth a shot.

I'm glad you feel more hopeful! I'm from a suburb of Cleveland, not sure where Marion is.

Let us know how the Copaxone goes!
