hi i just started celexa today? any positives to say on this? i did get a major panic attack and have had #2 issues but i wouldnt think taking a 10mg pill would cause that. im extremely afraid to take medication and i think i had myself keyed up about it, so it triggered an attack.but the doctor told me i better take meds because i am going to get worse if i dont. any feedback appreciated

I started a new med tonight and I too had myself worked into a frenzy over it. My heart was thumping....then you wonder is it just nerves or side effects from the meds.... I was on Celexa a few years back....it worked for awhile, but everyone is different...
I hate taking new meds...doctors...tests etc.... Just try not to let fear get the best of you. I felt a difference on Celexa within 1 wk.
Good Luck!

Celexa, celexa, celexa..... I've been taking it for 3 years increasing the dosage, reducing it and then again increasing it. It worked for me up until recently (my anxiety has worsened). I had my first appt. with a therapist yesterday and she suggested talking with my doctor about changing to a med that would also help mild OCD symptoms. On another note, I also have moderate to severe hearing loss, have tinnitus (ringing) in my right ear, and wear hearing aids. I had my permanent ear tubes removed a couple of months after I started Celexa. I've always blamed the ringing on my ear history and the tubes being removed. My ear doctor never discussed the possibility of the ringing being caused by the Celexa. I am VERY hopeful, yet cautious, about being able to live without ringing! I suffer with the ringing 24/7 and the only sounds that will cover it up are very loud. Hmmm, causing more anxiety! Summing it up, Celexa worked great but may have caused my tinnitus! I googled it and lots others have had the same problem....

Have you been to a therapist? Letting go of some of my past issues has freed up some energy for me to live more comfortably. Just the beginning for me, but with support, we can improve our lives.
