I have talked with my gyno a few times and we agreed that an IUC was an appropriate step for me. Even though I have not be pregnant, she said it could still be used. I cannot stay on BC any long. It just makes me feel like crap all the time and I hate it! I am young and want to have kids, just not anytime soon.

However, any research I do on Mirena (which is what I am considering) is always negative. I look for side effects and find tons of horrible stories.
But how common are these side effects? I feel like I'm getting a biased population - people rant more than they rave.

Any thoughts about all this? Anyone have good experiences? Bad experiences? Stories to share.

I feel like this is the right choice for me, but get scared by all the negativity.

I'm afraid to do a copper IUD because of the heavy bleeding... I don't want that!
