I have deep lines on my upper and lower lips. Both my dermatologists told me not to waste my money to have restylane injections. Unfortunately, I didn't take their advise, because i just hated the way it looked. Needless to say, they were both right. The doctor that I saw for the procedure (not a plastic surgeon), but a family doctor who said she was trained. She didn't give me any information about the side effects of the restylane, and I developed swelling, bruising and bumps on my upper lip. Considering, I'm always researching topics on the internet, I didn 't do a very good job this time. The sites I went on promoted restylane - not one mentioned the possibility of bumps appearing afterward (this was due to the fact that the filler was not injected deep enough). Anyone who is going to have fillers injected, should be well aware of the after effects, and of course, should check the doctor's creditionals with a "fine tooth comb".
