I am currently on fragmin sub-q injections (low weight heparin) for a blood clotting disorder. I was told by one doctor the shots had to be in the stomach, but then another doctor told me I could do them in any fatty area. Is anyone at all familiar with this? I had DH give me one in my hip last night because my stomach is completely black and blue, but I'm afraid it won't do what it is supposed to by doing it in the hip? I don't know if anyone is one this or lovenox, but if you know anything, please help me. Thank you.

I don't think it would make a difference where you put the medication as long as it's in the "fatty" part and not into the muscle.
The stomach is a good place because there is more fatty tissue there. Make sure you dh "pinches" some fat before injecting it into your hip.
Bruising is just one of those things that happens when you take this medication. Is it sore where the bruising is?
