Hi am too am about to get the work done on my neck degenerating herniated discs w/ not much of a string of a spinal chord w/all of the symptoms that you stated earlier. I have had MRI's done 8 years ago & 4 neuro-surgeons
said that they wouldn't operate on me as I have neuropathy w/diabetes so
now 8 yrs later here I am running into neuro people again who say I
will be paralyzed within 10 yrs so now what. I am going to do it in Jan as this
56 yr old guy doesn't want to be in a nursing home so young. It may help as
my left leg is weak giving out on me sometime and my neck is stiff with minor pain as I feel my neuropathy helps relieve any pain. So how difficult is this
procedure while I have sleep apnea at the hosp I want to use my cpap machine where strapping headgear onto incision may not be comfortable while using
mask. Does this operation restore coordination motor skills??? 2 nights
stay at the hosp says the dr - friends who have had back surg says 2 months recovery expected. I am scared spitless as this is serious I hope
I will still be able to drive, walk, play guitar etc. Hopeful words anywhere?
