I have a real issue that I am very concerned with.
If a parent is diagnosed with ocd can their children be taken from them?
I am scared to go see a psychiatrist to be officially diagnosed, I can't afford it right now and I am positive I am ocd from researching ocd and reading the boards.
I am concerned that I will be seen as a threat to my children and they will be taken from me?
Can this or has this ever happened to anyone?

That definately should not keep you from going to the doctor. I have never heard of anyone having their kids taken away from them for having OCD....you would probably have to have the worst case of OCD ever, to the point that you are unable to take care of your children. I definately would not worry about it...but I know that is easier said than done when it comes to OCD. Best wishes.

Thank you cuts. I know with ocd like you said not worrying is easier said than done. My children are my world. I know that I am not the best mom in the world but I am trying and to lose my children would be the worse nightmare come possible for me.
How can I approach my husband and let him know I think I am ocd? I am unsure and scared of how he'll react. He and my two teenage children 13 and 14 are all ADHD and bipolar.

I've read that OCD is somewhat of a result of decreases serotonin levels in your brain. What if you eat more foods or take an herbal supplement to boose serotinin levels does that help at all? Has anyone ever tried anything like that for your ocd.
Even though I said I haven't officially been diagnosed I think I have a somewhat mild to moderate case of ocd. I find it is worst when I am highly stressed, waking up and going to sleep at night seems to be the worst times. Out of the entire day my ocd obsessive thoughts account for about 2 to maybe 3 hours out of the day.
I just want these thoughts to end.
I was at my moms house a couple of days ago and we were walking downstair together and had a violent thought to push her down the stairs even though I'd never ever ever hurt my mom or any family member. I am very distressed over this and cry just thinking about it.
