I had an accident today, literally out of nowhere...came out of the doctor's office for something else, some lower back pain. Went to a store and started to look around, then felt that I had to go to the bathroom, so I left. I usually have various bathroom ailments (colitis, but i'm not fully sure if that's it yet) so I knew I couldn't wait it out. The ride home was brutal, and I was only 5 mins from my house. And as soon as I got in my house, I couldn't hold it , as I started to walk up the stairs in all came out and down the back of my pants. Sorry to be so descriptive but it was disgusting. This happened to me maybe twice before in my life, years ago, and years apart from each other. Those times I have figured it was due to bad food, because it was so quick and random. I don't know if it was the case today, but I did have some butter this morning that smelled sour. I didn't eat it all because of that, but some of it got in me. Is it possible for spoiled food to have this effect on the body?? My back problems are not yet fully determined, though from what I've read it can cause this too, I dunno. I made an appointment with a gastro doctor that I'm going to in a little while. This is so scary because I don't know what brought it on. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

So sorry about your accident - glad you made it home, though. One incident might be something you ate. Were you especially constipated?
You mention back problems...I hope this is not related, but do be aware that this could have a neurological component.
Do continue to followup until you are satisfied with the diagnosis. Best wishes.

I am a great believer in using a water soluble fiber suppement like Metamucil. It is a bulking agent-- It slows down your digestive track absorbs fluids and makes you regular w/o straining.
Most people don't get enough soluble fiber in their diet.
