Got my results today from Dexa last week.Lumbar spine -2.2, left femoral neck -0.6, right femoral neck -0.5. I now have osteopenia. I had a 10.6 % increase in the lumbar spine. Who would have thought it? I stopped strontium and vitamins in Early March of this year, because of chemo and rads, but I never stopped the exercise. I exercised all throughout the treatments. Aerobic walking and some light weights. I'm definately going back on the strontium, starting tonight.

Way to go, Tomato:cool:! A big congratulations to you. You've been thru so much this year and I'm so glad you got this good news! I'd like to know: how long were you on the strontium to get the 10% increase?

Thanks everyone for the congrats. This was quite a surprise for me and a well earned one, as I feel I have worked very hard for it. As far as the strontium, I had been on it(Dr. Best) for just about two years. Its been almost three years since my last dexa. As I said I had to stop taking it this past March. But I have already reordered it, and will start again. When I was first DX with osteo, the news was so devastating. Everywhere I read, that it was not reversible for Postmenopausal women, except for maybe a few. I say to everyone, keep up your exercises, as much as you can, if you are healthy enough. If you cannot stand, do sitting in the chair exercises. I can't really contribute this gain in density to one or the other. So I am going to continue on with both the strontium and the exercise. I do not have the same doctor, nor do I can much for my doctor, but I have no choice but to continue seeing her. Her reaction was, that she wants to test my vitamin D level, because I have osteopenia.:dizzy:
