I finally got an official diagnosis of IBS-A in October. I was given a long list of foods to avoid. Between that list and the list they give me for my reflux, it left me little to eat. The IBS list was very clear on not eating fresh fruit and vegetables, especially lettuce. I've been off them for about 2 1/2 mos. now and I would like to start adding them back into my diet some, with moderation.
Does anyone out there who has experience with this have any advice you could give on this?

Hi Mountain Reader,
I know just what you mean. I have IBS,Reflux and I'm Lactose Intolerant--So I have a hard time eating. I've found that Unprocessed Bran (get it at the heath food store) helps alot. I put it on everything that has liquid in it (such as potato soup, mashed potatoes--just anything that you can mix it into). I actually feel so good after I've had a colonoscopy that I really don't want to eat--but can't live without food--I'd be better off if I could. I've also found that if I chew fresh fruits and veggies until they are mush, it does help. I feel for you--it's not fun to live with. I have so many things wrong with me that my new Dr. is trying to figure out--I pray that she will be the one, finally, to help me. She actually cares and with God's help, one day, I'll be better. Hope this helps a little. God Bless You and Yours Today and EveryDay. precious49
