I was diagnosed with herpes in mid October, have had numb feet and groin since then. Now as of last week I have L'Hermittes sign which is electric shock down my back to my feet. My neurologist wants to do a spinal tap believing that I may have MS. Any one have a similar experience? Thanks

The bottoms of my feet will sometimes tingle, but I wouldn't describe it as numb. It does sound neurological, and not herpes related. You'd have to give more information, like do you have an OB after these other symptoms and do these symptoms happen all the time or can you tell a cause and effect to them happening? It's good to keep a journal of your symptoms so a doctor can readily diagnosis you for whatever you may have. I hope it's not MS. Does that run in your family?

Right before I was officially diagnosed, I had this feeling like a tingling electric shock down my back into my right butt cheek. I had had some cosmetic surgery a few months earlier and I thought it was maybe a lingering effect of having an epidural. It was noticeable enough that I remember searching for side effects of epidural. Couple months later, my blood test confirmed HSV2. I still get tingling feelings in my azz every one is awhile but not as frequent as in the beginning.

The numbness in my feet and groin has been constant since herpes diagnosis in October, only had the one OB which cleared up with valtrex. I also had urinary rention and constipation at time of diagnosis which cleared up after a couple weeks.
The Lhermittes happens everytime I bend my neck forward. I do not know of anyone in my family ever having MS.
