Good Morning ~
I am having my first preparation for a colonoscopy today, test will be performed on Friday. They have me taking (4) tablets dulcolax, followed by 238 Grams of Miralax mixed w/ 64 oz gatorade. Not looking forward to it. Does anyone have any tips on how to make the prep easier? I am terried that I will feel every minute of the Colonoscopy....does the sedative knock you out? I heard from alot of people that they don't remember a thing about the procedure.
To make matters worse, I woke up with a banging cold. My throat is so sore, just feel plain Yuck! Will they continue with the procedure if you are sick, is this something I should call and ask before going?

Surprised you have not had a flood of responses. I have never done the prep you are doing, so cannot offer any help. In general, most report that the prep is the worst part of the entire process.
With extremely few exceptions, people do not even remember what happened.
Best wishes! It will be over soon!

Good morning to you. I can assure you you wont feel anything during colonoscopy as you will be given a mild sedative which will put you to sleep. The worst part is the prep beforehand . Good luck

I didn't have the same prep I had that awful tasting phosa soda. It was nasty. Just follow the prep instructions carefully. Your results will depend on how well you clean out your colon. As for the test itself you are sedated and shouldn't feel a thing. Good luck and don't be afraid, it's really not bad. Suzy

I dont know what type of prep you are having--I had the phosphate soda---it was not pleasant to take but you just manage. It is necessary to clean out the colon before the colonoscopyso the surgeon can see better. You will not feel anything during colonoscopy--you will be given a mild sedativeto put you to sleep.
Best of luck
